Bought one anyway

I went ahead and grabbed one. It'll be hooked up to a rather well-firewalled port on my other Linksys WRT (running OpenWRT) for a little while. If it starts to bother me, I'll either drop the thing from my network (as many have mentioned, they got the $1 via PayPal, and this isn't set up as a recurring charge, so I'd have to approve any additional $49 "purchase") and flash it, or disconnect it and send it back to Fon if they really want it back. Besides, it might be fun to contribute to a "global network of one million wireless hotspots" since my ISP is Speakeasy. They had a problem with Fon claiming a non-existant business relationship, but their ToS still allows me to share my connection.
