<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/0"><b>anon</b></A> : I dont understand why such enthusiasm.<br><br>Ir-respective of how fast the service is going to be at the client side, sooner or later, the network provider is going to find overall bandwidth to outside world fast consumed so either they will cap the total data size per month, or traffic shaping a la streamyx-style is coming, perhaps sooner since Telekom/Celcom obviously have plenty of experience now. :)<br><br>Side question, curiosity, does anyone know<br>1.  Jaring International link speed to US.  many years ago I heard it was OC3, now?<br>2.  Telekom international link speed to US?<br>3.  Celcom link, which I presume will also go through Telekom's link??<br>4.  any other provider that has independent international link to US?]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/968156"><b>sashad</b></A> : was at berjaya times square and gave celcom 3gx a try. they're demoing using laptops and vodafone pc cards.<br><br>overall impression was not good. ran a couple of speed tests to overseas sites and speed was approx 280kbps down and 80kbps up. frankly, that seems to be what i'd expect from regular 3g service, not HSDPA.<br><br>promoter said that launch is only in september. they don't have any pricing or packages yet. i reckon this is a half-baked launch just so that celcom can say that they launched HSDPA before Maxis]]></description>

With Nokia's (NYSE:NOK) HSDPA solution, Celcom will be able to operate its network more cost-efficiently and offer its customers data services at speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps in June 2006, and this would be almost ten times faster than 3G speeds. The operator is launching three exciting 3G services, namely, "Xpax Legenda Tan Sri P. Ramlee", "Marvel Mobile" and "Disney".<br><br>"It is great to be able to support operators, such as Celcom, in bringing faster and better quality mobile services to consumers," said Bill Chang, Country Director, Malaysia, Networks, Nokia. "This deal further strengthens our ties with Celcom, and shows Nokia's commitment to bringing the most advanced mobile services to fast growing markets in Asia Pacific."<br><br>Apart from supplying to Celcom's expanded radio network, Nokia is also supplying the core network equipment to expand Celcom's current 3G network to four new regions. This effectively achieves nationwide coverage for the operator. Under the agreement, Nokia is supplying the Nokia HSDPA solution with 3.6 Mbps capability, a radio access network and transmission from its radio network portfolio. From its Unified Core Networks portfolio, Nokia is providing its MSC Server mobile softswitch, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Flexi Intelligent Service Node (ISN).]]></description>
