Re: Win XP PPPoE Instructions

Had a hella time trying to get XP to work. Here's how I did it.
My issues:
1. Upgraded from 2000(big mistake).
2. Used the SBC disk(second big mistake).
3. Followed the XP setup from SBC to a tee. No luck.
4. Called SBC Help Desk and got the response of "it's too new and not even our 2nd level can help and 3rd level only works 9-5/M-F(WOW, really, how lucky for them).
5. Format drive.
6. Clean install XP.
7. During user interaction setup, selected the broadband bullet(DSL or Cable Modem).
8. When XP asked for the name of my ISP, I entered SBCIS/My User Name/My Password.
9. XP tries to connect and does so successfully.
10. Reboot after setup and click IE icon and get a dial-up box asking if I'd like to connect to my ISP. OK.
11. On the information highway at a reduced rate.
12 Oh well at least I have the internet now.

Was this before the 15th? Cuz we werent allowed to support it untill after it.. I think it was the 15th...
Reason? because apparently Microsoft could sue us for supporting XP... sorry...
But now we support it
