Bumpmap Tutorial

First I scaled the image down a bit, Image> Scale Image, then added alpha channel, Layer> Transparency> Add Alpha Channel, carefully selected the background using Select> By Color, while holding the Shift key and erased, Edit> Cut.

Added a new layer, Layer> New Layer.

Selected the Bucket Fill tool, from the toolbox window, click the bucket, or from the image window, Tools> Paint Tools> Bucket Fill and selected Pattern Fill, Wood of some sort and filled in the new layer.

Selected Bump Map, Filters> Map> Bump Map, selected background layer and adjusted settings.

Saved as .jpg, File> Save As, the export dialog will automatically appear, click Export.

I think that should just about cover it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks, since I posted "you on wood again" and was asked for a tutorial, I thought it would be a good idea to show how it was done using the GIMP.
