Re: Dead mother sued for not paying her bill.....

People make up stories ALL THE TIME. It's hard to seperate truth from fiction. I could call my isurance company and say "My father is in the hospital with a heart transplant, and I don't have the money to pay for the bills. And need to lowre this isurance or get a nothe rprovider." You can make up anything you want, whos is going to know the difference?

There are so many liars in this world now, I wouldn't be suprised.

Please AOL will do anything to cover there asses, and I feel bad for the REP. They have so many guidelines and rules to follow, and she probably would of gotten fired if she didn't try to save the customer. How do you know the REP's mother didn't die?

People have no consideration for other people, but themselves, and it's true.

Hmmm, let's see.

Daughter offered up coroner's case number for the incident. Airlines (when they offered bereavement fares) used to ask for the name of the funeral home and/or hospital where the person died for confirmation of someones death.

Sorry, but I have NO sympathy for the rep or AOL. They aren't covering their asses, they are trying to cover their profits. If the rep would have gotten fired for cancelling an account, then that is AOL's issue. It's not the rep's fault that people want to leave their service.

BTW, for the betterment of all, I edited the spelling issues of your post to make it readable.

Yeah... you didn't read the article did you..

The conversation is printed out in transcript form, and you can see quite clearly the rep has NO concern over fruad, etc.. just giving the guy a hard time.

Yeah but I think with the coroners I.D. number that should be suffcient proof! AOL is using gorilla tatics and sooner or later they will go under. I can't wait for that day, big party and a beer for everyone!

The difference is this is a CANCELLATION of the service and NOT a request for a lowering of the bill.

That's the funniest thing I've read in long time.

But it acurately describes how some posters "read" an article.

I'll admit there have been some articles or posts I started to read and thought "too many words, not worth it...", but then again I don't start commenting on them either.

It's "guerrilla":

said by Merriam Webster :

a person who engages in irregular warfare especially as a member of an independent unit carrying out harassment and sabotage
"Gorilla tactics" would be something entirely different.

I dunno, "gorilla" seems apt.

I think "gorilla" is apt as well seeing as how AOL is usually the 800 pound gorilla on the dial-up block.
