1 edit | Drop POTS to save $3; no thanks Who in their right mind that already have DSL would drop Pots telephone service to save $3? Maybe a few based on some principle or extreme hatred of AT&T. But from an economic and safety(911 service) viewpoint, it makes no sense.

But if they disconnect your twisted pair at the local POP, you won't even have dial tone. So no 911 would be possible.
