mgullick : It's good that you had a spare splitter to test with. I doubt that most folks have one lying around. I had mine installed by a tech (I got screwed around so long with lies and such that when I got hold of some higher level folks they gave me a free technician install so I went with it and got the splitter tossed in.) I would hope that, should my splitter fail, it would be replaced for free.
--
Madness takes its toll. Please have exact change.

d_l : Well cool. Glad that worked out for you. There has always been a question of just how does one know if a failing splitter could be causing sync drops and now we know.

What type of splitter was it and how long had it been in use? There have been questions about how long these things are supposed to last before failing or at least how long those that have been reported as failing have lasted. Thanks.
