Speaking of snow, the snowiest place in the US in here in California, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, they average over 50 feet a season!

We get little to no rain here in Mendocino County from sometime in June (except for some thunderstorms, mostly in the mountain areas) to October, the grass just naturally dies out. Our rainy and snowy season lasts from around October until the end of April, normally, we have very distinct wet and dry seasons out here in the west, and we irrigate a lot, somthing not done much in the east. If I had taken that photo in say, Jan, it would be solid green. I'm not the best photographer either, I probably got the sun in the shot and it kinda fades some of the colors, the trees, orchards and vineyards here turn bright and beautiful colors in the fall, that photo doesn't do them justice.

Of course, at the coast, in the Redwoods and in the higher mountains it stays green year round. I'm glad it's this way though, our humidity inland stays low during the day in the summer, but goes up at night with the cooler temps, the wine grapes love it here because it keeps their sugars in check. I couldn't take your guys's humidity in the summer, I experienced it in DC and Baton Rouge, that's enough ;) lol

it's also a poor literary technique when used to relax the audience after the climax of a movie or book.

The sale still has to be approved by the FCC. The vote will (hopefully) be Thursday.

It's interesting to note the pretty significant difference between the
"TW and I'm happy about it" and
"Comcast and i'm looking forward to it".

Obviously, for most people voting, they cast this vote based on perception of what they might expect and not on how the service performs yet.

These more favorable results for Time Warner mirror the larger results monitored here at BBR with Time Warners longer term favorable rating at 77% vs Comcasts 67%.

Personally, I think that Time Warners branding of their service using the RR character is what gives them this 10% boost.

Back in the day when I had the service, I recall my thoughts initially being Roadrunner..was fast, and fun.

Getting off topic.(Sorry Sorto) There is no movement on CSX's Chicago Line due to major flooding along the Mohawk River. All Amtrak Empire Service is suspended west of Albany. The Lake Shore runs Syracuse to Chicago. Hopefully CSX will have at least one track open by Saturday.

I thought it would be interesting to see the numbers of people who are going to each provider from visitors to this forum. While I'm happy with Adelphias service I think it's time to get on with the show, so to speak.
Comcast and TW and others seem to be moving forward with speed increases, voip and triple play while we've been lagging behind somewhat now, probably because of the uncertainty.
I'm a new HDTV subscriber as well and adelphia seems to be lacking there as well and I think comcast will have better packages in the not too distant future. Obviously, because of my BBR namesake i would have preferred going to TW, but..oh well.

Comcast it will be and hopefully it'll be good.
Adelphia started to roll out digital phone, but decided to not put the money into it since the sale was so close. This was last year I beilieve. As far as HD, I have as many, if not one or two more than TW or Comcast offers in many markets. I remember two weeks ago, many of the cable forums here had people complaining that they couldnt see the World Cup in HD because there cable provider didnt carry ESPM HD 2, and over the course of the games, the companies were trying to get there act together to add it into the lineup for its customers. What about Adelphia? ESPN 2 HD is already part of the HD package. The two biggest companies sure couldnt say that. NFL Network HD? I got it, while another companies forum here is wondering why they can not get it added. As much as I don't care for the NFL network and think its a waste, Adelphia seems to give the customers what they want. Speed increases? Blah.
