reply to rachelsfx I knew someone would say this.... Capitalism is Capitalism. UK or USA, SAME THING. They aren't doing this to be nice, but to MAKE MONEY. Companies in the USA do similar things. It's nothing "special."
People LOVE to make themselves look like they are being treated poorly, perhaps for sympathy. There are people in the UK complaining that their broadband sucks compared to the USA.
