Today 65 analog channels are not all that much compared to what the rest of the system will probably be providing. And with the projected on demand technology discussed before, that means even more apparent 'available' channels. -- I am not lost, I find myself every time. |

A 860Mhz plant goes from channels 2-135. If they are digital channels then they can be either switch broadcasted or compressed at better than 12:1. Which would very much allow them to do so, but giving up half your spectrum for public access is insane! |

You can mix analog and digital, and the ads specify channels. Of course, I will be the first to admit that I do not know if the cable companies in question are bending the definition of channels, I only have an antenna picking up broadcast TV so I am limited to 10 or 15 channels (well, my wife is, I do not watch TV).
Using single mode fibre I believe the bandwidth is currently about 89 GHz/Km. Divide by 10 for the use of older fibre technology by the industry and you still have a lot more than the 0.96 GHz that 120 channels of Analog TV (using a generous 8 MHz bandwidth for analog TV) will require (and we are only talking 65). This is on one fibre, add in modern digital encoding and a bundle of fibres and you get a lot more capacity. -- I am not lost, I find myself every time. |

 | That's not the real issue. It regulation of internet and phone services. The county doesn't currently regulate Verizon's phone and net services and VZ wants to keep it that way. If the county dropped that demand, we could have an agreement in several months. |
