That is a very good way to get shot... Never get out unless instructed by the officer to do so. If you do have ANY Weapons Illegal or legal, permit to carry whatever, Tell him first thing, honestly and calmly.

Generally speaking, unmarked cars don't make traffic stops. In California that is why cops always have one Solid red light, most people dont really know about it
Actually illegal in most areas and you're correct. A good way to get killed, raped, robbed, etc. In California that is why cops always have one Solid red light, most people dont really know about it. Unmarkeds are usually detectives, VICE, ESU, ERT, SWAT, etc. that dont usually carry radar so if tey pull you over you've done something MUCH worse

burner,1st as said, "most of us ""oldsters" were raised to respect the police, as far as getting out of the car, goes,I would not rec it to anyone,(that dosen't mean giving up any rights, I NEVER said i trust them,)

and if its night & you don't "feel comfortable" about pulling over on a desolate road, because you see the "lights" COME ON,(most for women) the law DOES allow you to proceed to a well lite area or where people are around, befor pulling over, but, & this is the key TURN OB YOUR DOME LITE & signal the officer of your intentions he may get made or irritated when you pull in a well lite area,,but you can explain to him WHY you didn't want to stop, because you didn't want to stop being all by yourself,

but also as mentioned, HOW MANY (at night) will at least be courtesy to an officer or TURN on the dom lite when being pulled over to put the officer at ease & alow him to see who's in the car/van, thats not giving up any rights.

Back here in the real world, I always practice what I preach: to get respect, you give respect. I've never had a desire to frame or trick innocent citizens. All I've ever tried to do is perform a job to the best of my abilities. The vast majority of officers behave in similar fashion. In 2006, in the world as I know it, we're accountable for every single action. In contrast to the tales portrayed in the film, I digitally record all citizen interactions whenever possible. That's because experience has taught me that I'm likely to be accused of violating rights, etc., at which point I offer to play back our interactions to determine exactly where that violation took place. An ominous silence usually ensues thereafter...
You would not last very long in a typical metropolitan police department. There the members are expected to generate revenue for the gang, and convictions for the DA.
If you do not make your confiscation quota, better start looking for an honest job.

Hi Ranger. I was reading your post and was wondering how you think that the video was assuming the officer was acting unprofessionally? He was extremely well trained. He used all the right techniques and questions--which netted him a drug bust as well as a speeding ticket.
A “good bust” returns a prosecutable offense, and hopefully a decision of guilty. Under Texas law, the techniques shown in the first segment of that video have more holes than swiss cheese. Regardless of the valid speeding citation, any attorney could have the balance of the charges dismissed.

ACLU and its supporters have an agenda to meet, and they are doing so here. As for your personal experiences with LEOs…Canadian laws and procedures are quite different from ours, and I also might suggest that you start hanging out with a higher caliber of officer.

Oh? Do you consider Los Angeles to be metropolitan? That’s where I trained and worked for many years before coming here, to an area with similar demographics.

I have an honest job. Your sarcasm underscores exactly why it’s impossible to have an accurate discussion on law enforcement matters in these forums.

This is the biggest joke I have ever seen! This is not even realistic... You can tell this is an actor and not a real cop.

Oh my gawd...

Here is the best way not to get arrested: Don't break the law. Those who don't do weed or other drugs don't have to worry about getting caught.

yes that's the best way but if you do break the law, the second best thing they can do is know their right and keep their mouth shut

This is whole topic boils down to this for me- Citizens and the police both are required to follow laws and rules.
Anything which violates OUR Bill Of Rights is a far worse crime than anything portrayed in this video.
