To start with, I have never experienced any rebooting problems before. Now the 624C was rebooting every 10 minutes. One of the laptops (HP using Broadcom) couldn't connect all the time. I upgraded the Broadcom drivers and still no luck. Now this was one wireless unit out of seven that could not connect. None of the "old fixes" made any difference. I could not stop the re-booting and the one laptop would not hold a connection. Even placing the laptop on the desk 2 feet from the router did not help.

After banging my head to a bloody pulp for 2 days, I did a crash recovery back to version 2.71. Every unit (including the HP that was having problems) connected immediately. I know that the FW ver 2.71b11 has been banned from the US DLink web site, but it is available somewhere here in this forum. If you don't find it, write me a line and I will provide it. Please be reminded that if you enable UPNP you could be exposed to the security flaw on the LAN (mostly Wireless) side of your net, but you get better stability. Enabling WPA with AES encryption could provide stronger security giving you peace of mind, while D-Link provides a FW that really works, even though it seems that they aren't doing much to solve this...

Hope this helps...

The connection to the router is lost, i.e. neither WAN or LAN resources are reachable.

The first problem is probably related to the ISP DHCP, as the router sends 7 DHCP Requests without receiving an ack. Then it decids that the DHCP is unreachable and sends a couple of DHCP Discover. Then it starts sending DHCP Requests again. The computer's System Log says that the computer could not renew the IP address because the routers DHCP did not reply in time. It will though keep on trying... Seems to me like the routers DHCP is the problem! I have created a ticket to Dlink support about this, but have not received any feedback yet.

In neither of this cases the router is rebooting, though! I do not need to do anything to resolve these problems. After a while (1-20 minutes) everything is up and running again. It is quite annoying, though!
itct : What a bummer... I bought this router as a refurb because of all its great reviews re: cost vs. features. I've upgraded the firmware twice (before this catastrophe).

I upgraded to 2.75 (the version on the website as of this post; how you all get these "version 2.95842 beta 2483" explicit version numbers, I'll never know. The downloads section as well as FTP don't list any ver. info. beyond '2.75'). My symptom was when trying to submit or click apply on the Wireless settings page, nothing would happen, and this was due to code error (javascript specifically). Also, when selecting any drop-down menu option that would submit data (i.e. changing the HEX or ASCII bit depth from 64-bit to 128-bit, the passcode/WEP key textbox'es would normally increase in size to allow for more data to be input), IEX would try to submit, and get as far as the CGI page, but just hang there. I downloaded the 2.71beta from D-Link's FTP and flashed my DI-624. So far, no problems (it's been one hour!).

***NOTE***
If you're unable to get the "SSID Broadcast" setting to disable, welcome to the club!
I've learned that disabling the "Extended Range Mode" will allow for the disabling of the "SSID Broadcast" setting. It seems that a lot of settings are this way; dependant on another.

Here's a tip for all of you talking about UPnP and Time Synchronization:
DON'T MESS WITH ANY SETTINGS UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!

This is just like the Linksys WR54G (or whatever model...linksys in general).
effortless : I pulled out the old 624 yesterday just to test this firmware... I gave up on it because of the random reboots with all previous firmwares. I've only used it with one PC so far (don't want the whole house to kill me if the internet gets flaky), but it hasn't rebooted yet. Running with WEP and WMM and no superg. Jumpstart is gone (thank God). Automatic NTP appears to want a customized server (time.windows.com worked fine). Default SSID is now dlink. It's like an updated 2.59 firmware more or less (wmm on wireless page, no jumpstart, ddns works, more stable).
