You don't 'lay' DSL. You change some equipment out at the CO, and the lines become capable of DSL. Fiber requires you to change the co equipment, rip out the copper, put in the glass, and add a bunch of equipment at the CP. A lot more involved, and a lot more expensive. And when I say a lot more, i mean $100,000 compared to $50M per CO (assuming a small CO). |
