Do it now....while the Bells are dumb and blind

Now is a good time to go for it. The Bells are still screwing around and falling behind. DirecTV and a nation wide wireless will be a nice wild card. Plenty of rural customers and some city to boot. Frankly I think they can take the rural areas by storm if they act fast. But they will have to offer 5megs or better right off the start. Not to mention WiMax better be gold.

I'd prefer WiMax not come as a result of the merger of DirecTV and Echostar. Rather, I'd just wish somebody would enter the market.

As for speeds, anything is better than dial-up, ISDN, or satellite service.
