As for speed changes, I have no idea. What kind of results are you getting from other speed test sites, and from known reliable download sources? |

gordst join:2006-06-04 Winnipeg, MB | reply to Romeo4 try this site speedtest.shaw.ca it has a relible speed test. |
|
 | That shaw speedtest is absolutely useless for real-world use. It's pure intranet traffic, so it doesn't have to hop off the immediate grid, meaning it's really quite easy to get full speeds.
But, using different locations to get a good idea of your speed is a smart move. Use the shaw one to see what your speed inside the network is like, then test it to each of the locations through speakeasy, since you get a good range of effects that way. |

 | reply to Romeo4 I predicted(and hope) speed increases near the end og August, id suspect they are testing to find the sweet spot that their network can handle. But what I dont understand is that as far as i can remeber all the people reporting these speeds are all from Vancouver. |

 | Na there has been reports of strange speeds in the past while from places like Fort McMurray and Calgary with even faster speeds showing than this. I would not be 2 surprised of something coming in the next while as Videotron has already upgraded speeds and Bell's Optimax is suppose to be coming for certain area's in Canada. There has been rumors from something from Rogers is on its way as well. Lets not forget Telus's Adsl 2 whenever that gets here lol. I believe I also seen something about Primus and adsl 2 as well. It will happen just a matter of when. |

Which makes me ask again, any chance Shaw could technically limit a speed enhancement to only certain areas, i.e. BC & Alberta? Until MTS boosts its speeds Shaw might not feel the need to give us Manitoba customers any better speeds. |
