 | reply to Ammler Yes, there were a bevy of free net services back in 1998-2000. Lycos even offered it. AOl would probably have been best (and would be best) with re-naming itself, and creating a much better web portal with better services that would be better suited to offer content to high speed subscibers without any proprietary software needed. It's getting to the point where there's really only going to be Google, Yahoo, MSN - then everybody else. Google for more serious/savvy users. Yahoo a bit less so, and MSN even more so ( more for novices). AOL definitely stayed in the noobie catagory for way too long. |
