| why have caps if speed's already capped? OK if I recall correctly, Rogers currently has a 6mbps/800kbps top speed that's also capped at 100gb. so they're going to tripple the download speed and only slightly nudge the upload speed, and keep the same cap they currently have? What's the point of that exactly? For that matter what's the point of caps? To me bandwidth should be measured in total throughput received, not how much was downloaded/uploaded. If bandwidth is going to be measured by how much data has passed over a connection, then hell why not open the throttle on cable modems and allow up to 30mbps/6mbps or whatever's available? If you're going to offer such nice downstream speeds, then why are you so afraid of upstream, and only willing to slightly nudge it? If there's going to be a speed increase, it should be a decent one in both directions, not half assed. Upload should be 2mbps. Just my thought for whatever they're not worth lol. |
