The reasons for capped upload speeds

"then why are you so afraid of upstream, and only willing to slightly nudge it?"

Most ISP’s view the reason for a large upload pipe is for either running a commercial server which will cause allot of round the clock loading. Or they feel your going to be transferring files on P2P file sharing. The way they see it is if your not running a server or p2p uploading and only using your connection for "legitimate internet usage" then you shouldn’t need a large upstream. I like SBC’s TOS, They have no caps and don’t care what you do.
