Thanks for the tutorial Hey Ghoul. Like flesh, I too have a however though. I think it would be handy to discuss how you separated the portion of the image you wanted to keep (lioness) from the section of the image that you used as the background (original background).

[This is actually Hey Ghoul, just a little too tired to go and login and then log out] For the lioness I colored the entire background I wanted removed blue, pixel by pixel using the paint brush tool. There are other ways too. Using high tolerance with the fill or magic wand also removes areas of similar color but it rarely does a perfect job. It's resized to a width of 40; pixel by pixel is not gonna kill ya.
