| Directv Merger To any of you who think that Directv and Echostar will not merge, google Rupert Murdoch or "Directv Rumors". It will happen, just a matter of when. Antitrust issues prevented the last merger attempt in 2002/2003, but Murdoch is very confident that a new merger will be able to stand up the scrutiny by the FCC. You just watch. It is a matter of time. That would make one satellite television company with over 25 million customers. Not as many as combined cable providers (estimated at over 70 million), but surely the most active accounts for one company/conglomerate. |
