Re: NO soup for you. said by bmn:BTW, you can now play all of your previously PC-only games on Mac since Mac will run both OS X and Windows natively. So the argument that Macs have no games is dead. Yeah that's smart. Waste a poopload of money on a Mac and buy a Windows license on top of that so you can play on your Mac.
Most of Apple computers are not upgradable (like getting a new graphic card).
But I guess in your twisted logic this makes sense. After all you probably own a Mac. |

Using the emulators such as "Parallels" (which is what Apple advertises and recommends), you absolutely could not play any modern 3D game. That leaves you with Boot Camp. And what's the point in that? You're telling me that a person should spend money on overpriced, inferior hardware-equipped Intel Mac just to end up installing Windows XP to run games? Count me out. What a silly waste of money... Depends on what you are doing... There is a cluster of software that is only available for the Mac platform that is quite useful for certain fields... Music production and video editing being the two big ones. Multimedia production, which a lot of people are starting to do, are quite nice on Mac compared to the Windows counterparts.
As well, as a person who regularly uses three different platforms in one given day, there is a great deal of value in a system that provides the ability to move from platform to platform without having to have three different systems.
Second, this conversation is with regard to desktop operating systems... bringing up rhetoric about enterprise work and clustering is irrelevant. Actually said rhetoric is necessary because its blasts a gargantuan hole in the BS idea that all the good software is on Wintel. -- "Extremes to the right and left of any political dispute are always wrong." Most of Apple computers are not upgradable (like getting a new graphic card). So ? Unless you are in a virtual dick measuring contest over video cards, having the latest and greatest video card doesn't always prove to net you a gain in performance.
But I guess in your twisted logic this makes sense. After all you probably own a Mac. You need lessons on logic kid... And yes I own a Mac, but I also own several other platforms, some of which I doubt you've ever heard of because they all have their purposes and strengths... The Mac platform offers an advantage over others in that it allows all of the major OSes to run on it.
Its ironic that you come in here complaining about what you perceive to be Mac Fanboism while coming across as a total PC Fanboi... -- "Extremes to the right and left of any political dispute are always wrong." Dwight Eisenhower |
