Even for HD video $20 a movie is too much IMHO for such service to become significantly popular.

Exactly. I can watch movies in HD via my cable service (premium channels) and record them with my DVR and watch them whenever. And that's for a heck of a lot less than $20.

At $2.00 per episode it makes it more expensive than buying DVD set. A typical season will run 24 episodes bringing up the total to $48 per season. New DVD sets on the other hand typically launch at $45-50, and frequently you can buy them on sale for $25-35. Why would anyone pay $2 per episode is beyond me. The price is just not right. Any reasonable person would either watch those on TV or download BT and buy the series if he likes it.

With your cable you are restricted to watching what they want you to watch. This video distrubtion concept is the future.
