anon : Well, they finally came out... and I was kind of right. There was an issue with my account. First they never closed a WO so my digital service was never started or sent to my house. Then when we fixed that it was still not working. So They asked where I picked up my box from. That is where all of the problems were. I picked up a box from a different location other than the one that was closest to me, I picked one up from the location closest to work which was not my home office. The people from Comcast assumed that where I picked it up from was my home office so the header information that they were sending with my digital signal was for the wrong location that I was connected to, Thus our problems. Once they changed everything to the proper home office everything come up and started working. I do not think that this is the same issue as you are having Keith, because you at-least are getting some information to your box, where I was not. But there you go, that was my problem.

anon : Well I got home yesterday and everything was the same. I called and they said that they could send out a tech or I could exchange the box. So today I left work early and got a new box. Guess what... Same thing when I plugged in the box, no TV on any channels and "To Be Announced" is displayed. Tech support on the phone will only reset the box, and that has happened twice and does not change anything. This box is brand new never been used before (what the lady told me), but it still has plastic over the comcast label. I was reading on another forum that he had the same issue and when the tech came out the box had the wrong frequency. How do I check that and change it if necessary? Are there any other ideas?

anon : After,

I have been talking with comcast, and every person that I talk to has something different. But now the theory is that my WO is not closed, so they have not activated my equipment, and that is why I am not getting any channels. So I told them to activate my unit since I picked up my equipment. They are working on it and calling me back. That was 2hrs ago. I still doubt that this is the problem, because I would assume that I would still be able to view the standard channels. I am not downloading anything to the box at all. We will see. I assumed that the WO was closed when we picked up the equipment from the office, or when I called the number in the instructions when it said "Call to activate system".
