Although, without a doubt, a LOT of the issue is Quicktime pretty much having suckage on Windows. I try to not use it.

An AMD 3700 is a good CPU, it is hard for me to think that it isn't adequate, even so.

I had a discussion on this (search around), and none of my computers can play it (not that they're the greatest ever, but not bad). They're in my profile. Try playing the .mov files in VLC. Seems that VLC will play almost anything on just about any comp (Even HD).

As for the Hardware acceleration, I also had a discussion on that. It seems that the cards have a wealth of acceleration options, but the software to take advantage of the cards is practically non-existant.

I "download" the trailers in quicktime, save them, and then play them back in VLC.
