Re: Indulge My Stupidity SipSizurp: What you should do is find out which ***CHIPSETS*** of motherboards support a given CPU, then, while looking at motherboards, seek out the chipset that is appropriate. IIRC, there are only, what, 2 of them so far I think, both Intel, but I myself am trying to get up to speed on this.
Seems pretty crazy they didn't change the pinout, a LOT of people are going to end up frying stuff because of this, I bet.

Actually, this is pretty common - keeping same sockets thru generations of procs. Happened in the Slot processors, as well as sockets... If a customer blows something up, can't blame Intel if the customer didn't read the directions
