Re: [General] DLink VTA-VR said by hollando:Anybody able to hack it for voipstunt service. I have read all the threads relate to PAPv2 and VTA-VR, but that makes me even more confuse. Right now I can set the Admin password by CYT3.5. What's next? By using DLink's really suck web UI, I don't need to modify the xml, is it correct? If I cann't unlock it by next week, I'll return it even it's FAR. If you can set the Admin password for your VTA-VR, then the device is unlocked! Since reading posts here makes you more confused, I reckon it is best for you to return the VTA-VR to get your money back. Otherwise, this will confuse you more and it really doesn't worth the headaches, YMMV. -- Mazi (UK Non-Geo Phone: +44-703-194-2574) |

 | Hi mazilo, Nice to meet you! I'm newbie here. Just bought VTA-VR. I posted my problem about VTA-VR today. Now I am still trying to figure out why. No answer up to now.
According to your post, you mean when we succeed to login as Admin/Admin, it must be unlocked and we can set sip information. The problem left is how to set sip setting to make the voip call work, right?
Thank you very much! Happy The Labor Day!

This is a new device and not so many people have this device, let alone FAR. When you post something on a public forum, you ought to be patient to wait for an answer. In your case, you are damn lucky that the post got response. Sometimes post like this will go unnoticed for several days, weeks, and may even be years. So, please don't press your luck to SOL if you get no response!

 | Thank you very much mazilo, I'm so lucky my post is responded by you so quickly. I will sepend my time to figure out why my unlocking didn't work. If succeed, I will post it.

 | I just tried with router. The same result with my using tftpd32(DHCP server running in the windows). Still trying. |
|
 | Gosh! I missed the important step. I just opened the web of VTA, but didn't login with user/user. Shame on me!
So now I will continue find solution to configure SIP. |

 | reply to mazilo Haha... I kinda solved the problem. I'm sure it's VTA-VR's bug. It has problem setting the DNS.
" # /usr/sbin/udhcpc -i eth0 -b 192.168.15.254 udhcp client (v0.9.7) started debug, Sending discover... Server 204.126.255.127 selected debug, Sending select for 192.168.1.106... DHCP Request sent(broadcast)

Now I set the IP address of my SIP provider instead, it works. I wonder report this bug to DLink or not? Haha... Is there anybody using sip domain name, how you solved this issue? Thanks |

 | Hi rqhuang, Congratulations!!! Could you mind post your figure of sip setting to share? Thanks!!! I'm trying to set voipstunt in the VTA. Not finished.
Thanks!!!

 | I don't know how to make the DNS setting work in the box. I think maybe I need to deal with xml config file to solve this problem. Another issue is dial plan. I can call US and Canada phones but I don't know how to dial other countries. I have tried all the dialing methods but it always return busy tone. I must figure out how to solve this problem. Here's my setting for VB.
Mazilo, can you tell me how to get the xml file? I don't know exactly which floder I need to tftp get the file from ti? What does folder_name_here mean please! Thanks
tftp -i ti.tftp.vonage.net GET folder_name_here/tiMAC.xml |

 | Hi hollando, Thanks for you answer!!! Your Ip address in sip configuration is VB's "sip.voipbuster.com" 's ip address? We can leave the outbound proxy ip address blank?
Thanks!!! |
|
 | reply to mazilo Just don't know what's the difference between the outbound proxy ip address in VTA and registry ip address in PAP2 V2.0? It's the same? |

Bee @pacbell.net | reply to mazilo I tried running cyt35. But wasn't able to get to Admin/password step. I have a D-Link router to which I have connected my computer and VTA-VR device. On the DHCP screen of my router I do see VTA-VR device with an IP address. After that I logon to the device(user/user). After I run cyt35 but I get security violation. Could someone guide me please. |

I don't know exactly which floder I need to tftp get the file from ti? What does folder_name_here mean please! The information to obtain a copy of XML file is based on the Provisioning Profile Base URL, Image Firmware Base URL, Provisioning File Path, and the Encryption Key found on the Default column under the Provision page of your VTA-VR device. Then, use mostly any TFTP client program as shown below to retrieve the XML config file for your VTA-VR from Vonage TFTP server: quote: tftp -i ti.tftp.vonage.net GET [Provisioning File Path]/tiMAC.xml
Once you downloaded/decrypted the XML config file, please edit accordingly and you can also safely remove the contents of [VRMSG_NOIP], [VRMSG_WANDOWN], [VRMSG_DNSFAIL], [VRMSG_REGFAIL], and [VRMSG_UNPROV]. I believe the VTA-VR (also PAP2v2) uses these (GSM?) files to announce no IP address, WAN is down, DNS has failed, and Device is not provisioned when the handset is off hooked and the device is encountering one of these problems. This may sound cool to others, so YMMV. -- Mazi (UK Non-Geo Phone: +44-703-194-2574) |

jwx213 join:2006-08-27 Leicester,UK | reply to hollando Try this for your dial plan....
*xxT|*1xx|[349]11|1xxx[2-9]xxxxxx|[2-9]xxxxxxT|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011x.T
Replace the one that is already there. I have used this on Sipgate in the UK and called Canada, USA, Germany, Short code SIP numbers and local calls!

I believe the registry ip address is the same as the domain realm of the VoSP. Some VoSPs distinguish and use different servers for their SIP Proxy server and domain realm. -- Mazi (UK Non-Geo Phone: +44-703-194-2574) |

1 edit | reply to mazilo Cool! mazilo, sorry to bother again. I'm able to download the xml file now, but I have problem decrypt it. I tried openssl, but seems like it accepts 128-bits key max. If I'm getting it correct, the key is 256-bits/64bytes. After I search the forum, I found you mentioned about some program called RC4, but I have no idea where I can download this RC4 program. I google searched, only found rc4 from freebsd. I tried to compile it in linux, but it failed for incomplete. I also downloaded VuckFonage from other thread, but the file was corrupted and I couldn't unzip it. So many but....
Sorry I'm such a newbie to ask you question every step. Please answer my question and give me the url to download rc4 so I can become XMLer. Thanks! |

maziloFrom MaziloPremium join:2002-05-30 Lilburn, GA kudos:1 | Search for rc4tools. If you can't find it, it's packaged with RTP300/WRTP54G firmware source code that can be downloaded from Linksys FTP site. Beware that these files are about 50MB/each in size. -- Mazi (UK Non-Geo Phone: +44-703-194-2574) |

 | Hi mazilo, Can we use different key to re-encrypt our xml file when we modify something in xml file? But then we should remember our new key, right?
