I'd seen that program before, but for some reason, hadn't connected it to Bryce... :)

I think I'll try importing also to Crystal 3D and see how that goes.

Here's where you can really have some fun with Knots 3D.
(Figure 1) Check OBJ or DFX in the 3D Save Format options then File>Save as 3D knot to make the knot importable into Bryce (or DFX for AutoCad). DFX 3D or 2D can also be opened and edited in PSP7 (not sure about the other versions) as a vector. Saving in the 2D view as an EMF file allows you to edit the knot in Adobe Illustrator.

(Figure 2) Open Bryce then from File>Import Object... browse to where you saved the knot.DFX (or .OBJ) file.

(Figure 3) Position and size the knot as you'd like then click the "E" button to bring up the Edit Options pallet. Move the slider all the way up to 180 and click the Smooth sphere icon (also make sure you have checked the Solid When Boolean Rendering option) then click the check mark. This will take out the rough edges of the polygons. If you'd need to un-do the process simply click the "E" again, move the slider back to 90 and click the Unsmooth icon. Click the render option before and after smoothing to see the effect that it has.

If your knot contains more than 1 thread press Ctrl + click on an individual thread to select it. Press the "M" for that selected thread and change the material. Then select the other threads one at a time and chose different, but similar materials for each (Figure 4).

yet, but the Elefont really looks like it has some possibilities.

Here are a few things that I've found handy when working in Bryce:
Extra Primitives - a lot of other great shapes that you just can't make (or live
without) with the standard set that ships with Bryce.
Knots 3D - a great program for creating Celtic knots in either 2D or 3D. (I used it to
create my avatar.)
Brycetech is probably THE best site dedicated to learning Bryce. You will find all sorts of tutorials as
well as tips and tricks on using the program that they forgot to even put in the
hard-copy version of the user's manual. Make sure you check out the Links
section for more model and program downloads.

Get to know this program. It will allow you to create some
wonderful things. :-)

CCat , I used Paintshop Pro 8 with a lightning tube. I believe I did the .gif in about 5 different pics of lightning I made. The animation was made with Animation Shop 3.
