Re: [TWC] Any Queens NY Premium users with speed upgrades ??? I should point out that with overhead and encryption, I have never gotten more than 5MBs or so on a wireless B connection. You might not get the full speed once it's past 5MBs. 
My recommendation? Get rid of that router, get a regular router, and purchase an inexpensive router from CompUSA, BestBuy, MicroCenter, or the Internet. Plug it all in, setup encryption, and maybe you'll have better luck.
Does your wife have a laptop? Does it support wireless G? You could be getting much better performance if that's the case.
