I am from the twcny area, this morning after rebooting my speeds are as advertised 10Mb/s down 1Mb/s upload.
my problem is that only my desktop recieves these speeds, (it is wired too the router) but my wireless laptop does not reach these speeds. Are their any setting i need to change inorder for my wirless computers to achieve those speeds?
my router is a linksys Model # (befw11s4 B) and my wirless card is a (linksys wirles b) .

|
| | | | | Re: 10Mbps standard?! i ran drtcp and no improvement. but thanks for the help though. My self and a bunch of my friends have been trying to figure it out. were trying to tweak all the settings but nothing is working. | |

|
| | 1 edit | need to switch to g or n wireless b limts you to about 2 mb/s 6mb/s would only be reachede if you have perfect conditions | |

|
| | | premium users here in Columbus are 8 down. | |

| | They are probably doing it to give people a reason to stay if they were skeptical about coming to Time Warner from Comcast. It's a nugget to try to prevent converisons to FIOS. I know in here in Dallas, TW was not carrying the NFL Network until they were forced to.
I would have gone to FiOS from TW for that reason alone. But alas, I have DirecTv because of the NFL Sunday Ticket.

| | Insight Columbus RR is still at 3/375 or 384 (the modem no longer reports max speed, last time it did it was 384,000) | |
|
| | | Re: 10Mbps standard?! I will stay a loyal user if RoadRunner is being preemptive. 7/512 is not enough for me to stay, but 10/1 now with FIOS still so far away is enough to make me feel like RR cares. | |
