WPNT834 Beta Firmware
I just got a new firmware version from Netgear that seems to fix the ABG Centrino card problems. I just uploaded it to mine a few hours ago, and it seems to work great!

Dude - this rocks. Netgear is a PITA when it comes to releasing this Beta Firmware. Can't understand it. This cleared up my problem instantaneously. Although I didn't try the QoS disable on the Protocol list as nerdyu posted.

Have you had any problems with the beta firmware 1044 ? Did it really solve the 3945 problem ? Im thinking of updating it so i was asking just to be sure..By the way how where you able to get your hands on it..

Hello, Can someone repost a working copy of the beta firmware? I just invested some big bucks in buying this router and two new matching laptop PC cards for it. Would really like to get the beta firmware version if it really exists. I don't know why it was mentioned and then a corrupt or fake copy of it is posted here on the forum.
Does it really exist I wonder.

Thank You!

I just sent Dell back my second laptop this month. The first was Draft N and didn't work at all with WPNT 834 router; though it could connect to other wifi connections.

The second was 3945 with was having the disconnect problem. Dell tech support helped me with a CRITICAL patch issued by Intel in mid Sept to correct this problem. The disconnect problem went away...though it then would not connect at all.

Is there really Netgear beta firmware available?

If you had forced the draft n card or the router to wireless G mode it probably would've connected.

The two standards are incompatible though (Draft N and MIMO) due to their channel organisation.

Hitman05 I don't understand how this router could cause you to have pop3 problems, all the router does is forward the packets like any other packet.

Hi netneeds,

first off, thanks to the person that mentioned this firmware upgrade. That healed all the problems on my router and HP laptop.

If you can't download from the link the user posted above first try signing up as a member of the site and then it will let you download it.

Take Care,

Darren

Hi BuggyBoy,

So netgear gave that to you directly? I can't see it posted on the netgear site anywhere so I was just curious.

This is an "official" beta release from NETGEAR or is it from some other third-party that did a quick fix?

Thanks,

Darren

OMG..this is great. this QOS reboot problem has plagued me for so damn long now.

I tried unsuccessfully to deal with their support people. just a ridiculous waste of time.

thanks for posting.
