Zoder join:2002-04-16 Miami, FL | Comcast Plans a 'TV Guide' on the Web »www.multichannel.com/article/CA6368422.html
quote: Comcast Corp. as early as this week will announce a Web-based service that will act as an electronic guide and search engine for computer users trying to sort through thousands of scheduled television shows, on-demand videos and high-definition programs.
The service, to be called TV Planner, will be introduced at the same time Comcast launches its first fall lineup of video-on-demand programming. That will underscore the Web service's ability to sort through large amounts of on-demand programming quickly, according to the company.
According to the article this will be for both HSI and non HSI customers.
You can access the beta here.

| "Ultimately, viewers will be able to click on a listing shown on a Web browser and instruct a digital recording machine to store a copy of a chosen program. And an Amazon-like recommendation engine will also suggest what other programs might interest the viewer, the company said. But those features are not part of the initial service."
I'm looking forward to this, and I hope they activate it soon. -- Comcast of NJ II - Union/Verona |

| reply to Zoder It is on here in Indiana, I was using it last night...it is one of the best online guides I have ever seen! Kudos to Comcast on this one. In fact I sent them some feedback from the site to let them know. I strongly recommend all that have access check this out....Worth the time! -- "There are 10 types of people, those who can read binary and those who cannot" |

1 edit | The comcast online guide is very nice. But I would like an option to highlight any program and have it put in a might watch list. This way when I go to the guide it will be easy for me to see what I want to watch or tape that day. |

| said by patspub:and the "Boomerang" channel:) Yeah cause we all know the technical expertise involving adding the boomerang channel trumps deploying OCAP and Tivo DVR. Our area hasn't gotten any new channels since ESPN2 HD.
Anyway I've seen the grid guide off of comcast.com before. Its very nice, I do enjoy it. A search function for on demand is cool too. There was an on demand website provided by comcast I used the search on, but this is nice since it integrates on demand with regular TV, and you can filter out the results to your liking. Good website. |

 | reply to gate1975mlm Thanks for the screenshot, that looks awesome. When they add the "set your DVR" feature, I will be a very happy man, that's damn cool. |

 | reply to Zoder This is a great online guide! After using it for a few days, I find it to be extremely fast. There is basically no lag when switching days and times. It has also worked fine for me on IE, firefox, and Safari on Tiger. This is a great guide! -- My Blog - Upcoming Podcast - New Blog Site |

 | reply to Zoder Not bad, not bad.
Setting a DVR from the web is a great first step. With a proper setup and data plan, you'll be able to set recordings from your cell phone too if you have web access! I've dreamed about the ability to do that for a long time! |

I'm confused, this has been around for a few months now.
Go to »www.comcast.net
then on the main panel; on the left hand side select TV and you get :
and if you subsequently select one of the three sublistings:
•TV Listings •On Demand •TV Cable Showcase
you end up at:
»tvplanner.comcast.net/?initView=···avTVPlan
What's the big deal other than this other site is supposed to let you schedlue your recorder to record for you?
