Bellsouth needs someone to police them. I wasn't able to get a phone without paying a prior renters bill because we had the same last name. They assumed the previous renter was family. Even if they were family the telco shouldn't hold it against me.
Of course, Bellsouth is the ONLY service provider. I went with cable internet and vonage. Take that Bellsouth.
