Anon | They are oversold on bandwith... and their tech support is less than expected. They keep saying they are expanding bandwith (to an OC5 so they say), but non peak hours on a bronze plus package yield no better than (on average) 40kb a second. Better than a modem, sure... until you find out that every download over 20mb is corrupted 100% of the time.
They have not been able to trace down any of their problems yet, even though the line provider GTE has replaced the modem and tested everything to the concnetrator (I am only 5200 away from the CO)... I have replaced pretty much everything network related, including NIC's and cables, the hub, and software on three different home PC's. No good.
Avoid them until they iron out their absorption by RMI net. |
