It's more about the phone backup than your internet backup supply. Granted, you can do phone and more with your net connection, but these battery backups are to maintain your phone connection, not so you can continue to surf pr0n BBR.
So I wouldnt expect a cable/DSL service to care too much about backing up a non-essential service. -- ....where's my fiber?
