SGR : Couldn't people just call up and tell Comcast they would like two cablecards installed in their home and conveniently leave out the part they are for one Tivo. If you get the tech to come out with two cable cards on hand I doubt he'll decline to install them then. I'm new to the whole cablecard thing though so I really don't know what kind of information Comcast requires when you request a cable card install. If it's as easy as just saying "I want a cable card installed" I can see this working. Even if the tech seems confused you could always tell him you'll gladly install them yourself while he sits in a comfy chair. Perhaps even offer a generous tip to sweeten the deal? :D

The standard for 2.0 is not set yet and it likely won't be for some time. your confusion lies in the fact that the TiVo will support the multistream cards. But this is not 2.0. More like a 1.5. 2.0 will be the first standard that will do 2 way, none of the 1.x cards will d it. SO, no on-demand with the new TiVo.

With the s3 you can have 2 1.0 cards or 1 multistream card. This is for individual tuners.
--
I feel more like I do now than I did.
