Re: [Hockey] Are the Islanders for real? Holy crap, 15 year deal, for a goalie that still has to prove himself? You know, I thought they were nuts for signing that nutjob Yashin for 10 years, but at least he had some scoring talent, but this deal is just outrageous.
Oh well, I hope the Isles finish dead last and really feel it burn. Who the hell signs long term deals longer than 5 years in today's NHL? -- ·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´ |

You know, I thought they were nuts for signing that nutjob Yashin for 10 years That's what I thought when I read about the deal this afternoon. They are still trapped by Yashin's deal and turn around and sign an even longer deal with someone who has yet to prove he's anything above a standard-issue NHL goalie.
Yashin for Chara, the draft pick that got Spezza and Bill Muckalt -- what a deal.....for the Sens!

I'd argue that Magic Johnson was "the real deal" the moment he arrived in the league, a superstar in a very short time and is arguably one of the greatest ever.
