Re: [Hockey] Are the Islanders for real? wow...i am stunned...at first, i thought you guys were kidding...then i followed the link...about the only thing this guarantees the franchise is a salary for their goalie...for example, if 10 years from now, the average goalie is making $7 million per year (with comparable numbers), then the franchise is going to save money...this has more to do with DiPietro than anything...if he sucks, the management looks like morons...if he has a stellar career, they will look brilliant...it's a gamble...only time will tell how it works out.
