Re: iPod *Gapless Playback? Okay now this is weird! My iPod plays tracks gaplessly for some albums, and for others i can hear a tiny gap (a "click", more like). For example, DSOTM plays perfectly, but i also tried John Digweed - Bedrock (a DJ mix album), and a few others (Human League - Dare! for instance, where the track "I am the Law" goes into "Seconds"). I think maybe it has something to do with the way the MP3 files were encoded to begin with. The thing is though, that I use MP3 Splice (a plugin for gapless playback on Winamp), and all albums play beautifully, even the ones that have that click on the iPod. Any suggestions? |

Re: iPod *Gapless Playback? interesting post.
Although officially apple states the following: Supported iPod models (make sure you have the latest iPod Software)
* iPod nano (Second Generation) * Fifth Generation iPod * Fifth Generation iPod (Late 2006)
This has me bit confused because its working on my 1st gen nano and my 3rd gen iPod. It may mean sometimes it will work sometimes it won't I suppose or Apple doesn't want to have to support older models or they want to promote sales of the new models. But Apple wouldn't be that unscrupulous...

15hn @btcentralplus.com | reply to MicrotoastXP I just upgraded to Itunes 7 on my powerbook and it automatically updated all of my gapless albums (most of which are DJ mixed) - I could see it doing this. Sync'd my 5g ipod and it works! Finally!
Note when I go to 'get info' on my albums it does not show it as gapless. I guess this is because itunes recognises that it is a gapless album and it does not need a manual override. |
