Sycophancy

The problem with most upper-level management is that they fall in love with their ideas and only seem to surround themselves with yes-men who are fearful of shooting down their boss's ideas before they fructify. If their bad project fails then the one who gets fired is the project manager because he obviously did not believe in the idea enough for it to succeed. Or else the person who did dare to voice reservations about the idea gets fired because he didn't believe in it either.
