renton : I tried to tell them that I don't think it's fair for me to pay to have my mouse replaced under warranty , I even spoke to a supervisor but they wouldn't budge. On the other hand I'm getting a better mouse. But if my first mouse lasted 5 years (that's what the warranty is) I wouldn't have to pay anything extra.
--
"You need your love/I walk from it/You fight for love/I run from it/My enemy desire/Caressing me, desire/The torch I carried burnt my hand/I can't control what I can't standDesire"
Ultravox

As of noon today (Sept 22, 2006) 20CAD is equal to 17.90USD.

As for the warranty issue, manufacturers are getting stingier with warranty shipping, with some even requiring payment for shipping the replacement from the manufacturer to the customer (eg Linksys). In this specific case though, the OP should probably call Logitech and ask them to pay or reimburse for the second shipping charge as it was totally Logitech's fault for sending out a dud as a replacement.

Misterman : Well the warranty is working just fine as they are paying for shipping the item to you. It's normal for many companies to give you an upgraded piece of hardware when they no longer make old hardware anymore.

Wait so $20 canadian dollars is $1.50 US? Are you serious?
Logitech mouse: warranty replacement doesn't work

renton : Sorry for the long post, I tried to keep it as short as I could. I bought an MX700 about a year and a half ago. It stopped working so I called Logitech and they told me they're sending me an MX1000 as a replacement since they don't have MX700s anymore, I just have to scratch the s/n on the old one which I did and I don't need to send it back. I got the new mouse but it doesn't charge. It will charge for like 5 seconds and then it stops charging. I called them again and they said they will replace it again but I have to send it back first which I totally agree with being that is a brand new mouse but why should I pay for shipping it back? I'm in Canada and I have to send back to US and that's going to cost around $20(I know it's only $1.50 US but still :) ). Am I expecting too much? I didn't ask for an MX1000, I just want my old MX700.. I was pretty happy with it.
--
"You need your love/I walk from it/You fight for love/I run from it/My enemy desire/Caressing me, desire/The torch I carried burnt my hand/I can't control what I can't standDesire"
Ultravox
