the answer is "NO"

the only way the film industry is going to compete with piracy is to stop using DRM. As is continually pointed out, pretty much everything is available on P2P and without the restrictions the "legal" content is burdened with.

Plus, I'm not sure the industry really wants to compete with piracy - it's too good of a bogeyman that can be used to convince legislators that draconian laws are needed to "protect" content and preserve their outdated business model.
