sholling : I'm not a heavy gamer but probaly zero for 2.1. Digital is useful for playing Dolby Pro Logic and THX movies on a 5.1 system that has a decoder. For 2.1 there isn't much if anything that comes close to the klipsch. Logitech has a good ~$300 5.1 that accepts digital. I did read about a guy that used an old AV/receiver, a pair of good grade home theater type speakers, and a spare $600-700 subwoofer to build a custom gaming system a few weeks ago. It's not worth it to me but it might be to you.

Personally if it were me I'd plug the Klipsch into the analog port and have fun.
--
"Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else."
--FREDERIC BASTIAT--

stombujotz : I see....so what speakers would be able to use this digital jack then...and would there be that much difference in quality when playing games...??

stombujotz : Hello...I have recently updated my sound card to the soundblaster audigy 2zs gamers card and when I try and hook my klipsch speakers to the digital output of the card all I get is static....they work fine on the analog jack...is there a problem with the card...or do these speakers not accept a digital signal....I am confused....Rich
