Great deal

Hmm, I don't know a whole lot about AT&Ts reliability, but this should give Verizon a real run for their money(DSL wise, not FiOS).

It's just a shame it's not available here....

This doesn't matter at all to Verizon. People who have Verizon DSL won't be able to get AT&T DSL, and vice versa.

I second that

and also it is good that the yearly contracts are gone. I like my cox dsl but the contracts kept me away(well and their slow speed but that is besides the issue)

Does this mean my contract is null and void now? If I call and re-rate?

according to this page:

I've been off contract since June. However, I see I'm paying Elite prices ($34.99/mo) but I only have the Pro package. I'm assuming some adjustment is coming my way in the near future.

The price for the Pro package listed here seems fair. I've been with SBC/ATT for years now.

Same here. I like Adelphia's speeds, especially upload, but I'm too busy anymore to make use of it... so I'd rather have $20 1.5mbit DSL, but no availability here either. It's funny because my uncle, who lives 5 houses down the street, has AT&T DSL and his house is part of the same track as mine. Also, when I've called AT&T in the past to check availability, the person on the otherside alwys acts surprised that my line doesn't qualify.

Oh well. Maybe Time Warner is offering their "Lite" (?) package here already.

Adelphia always had a lite tier available. Simply had to call and ask, I believe the speeds were 256/256.

My AT&T DSL has been VERY Reliable, I would like the Elite 6.0 mbps
but I'm just a bit to far away.

I am not sure I agree with you. Without a contract they will be able to instantly adjust your price to fit their mood. And I would be willing to bet this is the ONLY reason they are getting rid of it. Even when there were contracts you could get their service on a month to month basis. Sure it cost you a little bit more, but thats what you get when you dont want to gaurantee business to them.

Well, their site currently lists a one year contact as having the exact same price as month to month. For those who feel safer that they are locked in for a year, they have the option.
