anon : Suppafreak, at least d-link support tried to help you. I had the exact same issue with dwl-g520 rev. A pci adaptor after I upgraded to 2.48. No access points showed up at all. I called DLink support and told them that the signal was at 100% with the 2.23, at about 40% with 2.42, but no access points would show up with 2.48. Their only advice was to move the router within about 10 feet to see if that would work or roll back to 2.42. They said the only thing they could do was report that there was an issue with 2.48.

I finally gave up on the D-Link drivers, uninstalled them and tried the Atheros 4.2.2.7 last night (haven't upgraded the driver to 4.2.2.33 yet like tqhoang suggest). Immediately saw the router with 100% signal and full Super G connection. Downloaded about 2gb worth of stuff from bittorrent overnight, seems pretty solid.

Only caveat in installing was that I had to run repair after the initial install (click on the Remove programs - Atheros Client Utility and it will give you a screen to remove or repair) because a necessary dll wasn't installed the first time.

Only thing I miss about the D-Link is that you can check the download and upload speeds. I'll probably have to find a separate utility for that, anyone have a suggestion?

tqhoang : I'm not sure if the difference between the DWL-G650 revB3 and revB5 is why the revC v3.18 drivers worked with mine. It didn't complain about anything missing when I installed them. I didn't mention it, but to actually get driver v3.18, you need to look under the DWL-G520 revB which driver also supports the DWL-G650 revC. Again this is for the PCMCIA DWL-G650, not your PCI DWL-G520 (use the Atheros drivers for that one).
»support.dlink.com/products/view.···0%5FrevB

If that still doesn't work, perhaps try the regular DWL-G650 revB driver v2.54?
