Re: [Free] Acronis True Image 7 for FREE said by howie1:said by Keizer:said by howie1:It looks like the last build of TI 7 (638). A very stable build too! Yep... was probably the best of version 7. It's definitely worth filling out the form. I think a few here still use 7 because it works so well for them. Hello! This is sounding better all the time! Thanks for the additional info, gents!
If they're expecting us all to upgrade, that version 9 better be one smoker!! LOL! |

And as mentioned, newer isn't always better. The last build of TI 7 is definitely a worthwhile download....and the price is pretty hard to beat. -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem. |

So let me just say in advance-- thanks! We all appreciate it!

Tycho Xthe cake is a lie join:2004-02-18 | reply to purelander I know TI7 allows for incremental backups, but does it also allow for differential backups? I think the latter is only supported in TI9. |

However, I've never used this product before and did a bit of research on it before deciding to go ahead with it. I came across the following reviews:

Any ideas of why those users bashed the product?

#1 That is from PC Mag.
#2 The user must be smarter than the device(or software) they are using.
I have used v7, v8, v8 Server, and v9. Not one bad restore from any of them. Countless restores!
YMMV. -- Think outside the Fox... Opera |

Well first i have to say the installation and upgrade went smooth and second they have had three builds since i bought my version 9 upgrade. All i can say to all who have downloaded this free version 7 the 29.99 i spent on the upgrade was the best 29.99 i ever spent. There are more feature's with version 9 than there are with version 7, version 9 is DVD compatible as you can see with build 3633.

| reply to purelander Thanks, purelander! Downloading the installation file as I type this! Perhaps I'll use it in my next system.
I'm not familiar with this product, but wonder if it can back up only the core operating system and installed applications. I mainly use this machine to download lots of jamband shows and don't really need to back up those -- just the main installation. -- HCN: Because you deserve a rest!
