It was maybe 10 years ago when the mantra for companies used to be, first and foremost, about customer service, then providing the best product with that smile. Now, the customer be damned. 
Buy out the politicians, get city/state franchises, buy out the competition, throw on some warrantless wiretaps and further federal collusion which guarantees retention of customers (i.e. profit), and your company is set.
This article is in line with the picture of today's so-called 'service'. It's completely flopped the other way. You're expected to take shoddy service with a smile, so long as the price remains low enough for not to bitch. |
