| Opt Out cookie. raw Digging through the x10 pages, they have a page that claims to opt you out of any more adverts for 30 days. It places (another) cookie on your PC.
click here
This one places it for a year

clicking either of these links will send you to a blank page, but the cookie will be there.
If you use cookie blockers, neither opt-out method will work. |

Re: Opt Out cookie. Hummm, my cookies are turned on and I tried your 1 year link. i still get the popunder x10 adds on yahoo.com? |

 justinAustralian join:1999-05-28 New York, NY kudos:7 | that sucks. x10 maybe refuses to construct a cookie older than 30 days. so they wanna help, but not TOO much. |
|
 | reply to justin The one-year link has worked for me on two different computers. |

 | reply to justin the 1 year link *works* on yahoo.com the ads pop up but they force a close themselves |
|
 | reply to justin I believe this works even if you include the X10 opt-out URL as an image within some other page. So, if you've got your own home page which you visit frequently, you could put an invisible 1x1-pixel image on it something like this:
<img alt="" src="http://www.x10.com/home/optout.cgi?DAY=365" width=1 height=1>
The cookie would then be re-set every time you visit the page. Of course, it would also be set for any *other* visitors to your page -- a public service, imho. |
