I'm not sure what you mean by mixing the two. I have both and don't see any changes to MSN Explorer. Actually I use IE6(now IE7) most of the time.

I was curious if there was any functionality changes in MSN if someone installed IE7. Mainly because MSN pulls much of it's browser functions straight from IE.

MSN functions exactly as it did when IE6 was installed. I see no changes whatsoever.

Thanks Suffering and delta7000.
Since MSN Explorer is basically a shell for IE, I like Suffering, was just wondering how the two behave together. Specially since IE7 will soon be available on Microsoft Update. Just trying to prevent some problems in the future that's all.
Also some time ago, I was told that Microsoft intends to release a new MSN Explorer IE7 friendly I assume MSN 9.5). However, no word from the MSN crew, and with all this Live stuff going on is hard to understand where MSN is heading.

All along I've found one thing very interesting with MSN Explorer. It will not use Sun Java. I can have both browsers open in a split screen. When I run a java test IE6/7 will say I'm running Sun Java and MSN Explorer will say Microsoft Java. I ran a test and deleted Microsoft Java and MSN Explorer would not open anything that required java. I'm running both now.

From my understanding MSN 10 was supposed to come out but may be scrapped for the whole live thing (which I think is a great move).

I alpha tested MSN 10. There is a internal debate within Microsoft if they should release another MSN Explorer. LIVE was to replace MSN completely (sad news for this forum). However with Live Desktop Mail and other parts of Live still within Beta, the need still seems to be there (however so small). MSN is also not Windows Vista friendly.

If MSN 10 is released, it will be the last MSN Explorer.
