| From A Relay Operator's perspective I am a former relay operator. I am currently a relay victim's advocate. I used to have to process all these calls originating from Nigeria that scammed many, many people out of a whole lot of money. When I couldn't take that any longer, I began writing down the phone numbers of the people and the businesses and I would call and give them the information I had on Nigerian scams. People were always incredibly grateful that I warned them before they actually lost money.
What I do now is very different. Other operators who still are working for relay will give me phone numbers of victims. It's my job to give them a heads up that they are about to be scammed. I work very hard and have to call a lot of victims. It's my goal to get this story out to the media and warn potential victims of this massive scam.
