Re: Digital 2.0 At the end of September, I bought a new TV and decided to add the "HD Pak" to my Insight account. At that time, I was told the "HD Pak" included ESPN HD, HD Net, HD Net Movies, Discovery HD Theater, and Universal HD. I was also told that sometime in October I would receive some new HD channels, those being ESPN2, TNT, and MHD.
When the upgrade happened, I noticed that tuning to each channel yielded a "not authorized" message. Upon calling Insight, I was first told that I would have to purchase the "Family Pak" to receive those channels. Since I'm already paying for the "HD Pak" I felt like it would be a little silly to have to pony up like $8.00 or $9.00 a month for a bunch of channels that I don't care about and three extra HD channels. So I called back and talked to another Insight employee. She told me that all Insight employees were originally told that people who subscribed to the "HD Pak" would receive the new channels upon the upgrade, but now they are being told different information and no one really knows whats going on. She suggested I call back tomorrow.
Anyway, I don't know if anyone else has a similar story or the very first person I talked to at Insight was mistaken. No matter what though, I just find it to be a little ridiculous that the three new HD channels aren't included in the "HD Pak." |
 | The disclaimer on the new springfield channel lineup pdf says, "Subscription to Classic service and at least 1 Digital Programming Pak (or Digital Standard/Choice) is also required to receive MHD, TNT in HD and ESPN2 HD".
The pdf is here: »www.insight-com.com/documents/pr···5.08.pdf
Does this mean we have to subscribe to something other than the HD pack to get these new HD channels? Insight doesn't do a very good job of making things clear. |
